FAQs

Practice Details & Logistics

Is this a telehealth practice?

1

Yes, all services are provided via secure telehealth, allowing you to receive care from the comfort of your home.

Who can you provide care for?

2

We currently provide care for adults (18+) who are physically located in Texas at the time of their appointment. At this time, we do not offer services for children or adolescents, and care is limited to patients within Texas due to licensing requirements.

Do you accept insurance or are you private pay?

3

We are in-network with several major insurance plans; check here at Payment Methods. For out-of-network or private-pay patients, our initial psychiatric evaluation is $250, and follow-up medication management sessions are $125. We can also provide a "superbill" for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We prioritize complete financial transparency, so there are never any surprise bills.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

4

No, we do not prescribe controlled substances. This includes medications such as benzodiazepines (like Xanax or Klonopin) and stimulants (like Adderall or Vyvanse).

Do you treat psychiatric emergencies?

5

Because we operate as an outpatient telehealth practice, we are not equipped to handle acute psychiatric emergencies. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. If you are having an immediate medical emergency, having thoughts of self-harm, or are in imminent physical danger, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room immediately.

Our Clinical Approach

What conditions do you specialize in?

6

We specialize in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), along with anxiety and depression. We also support individuals experiencing related mental health challenges. Our care is tailored to each individual, with a focus on understanding both symptoms and underlying patterns.

What makes your approach different?

7

At New Perspective Psychiatry, we take a comprehensive and thoughtful approach to care. Rather than focusing only on symptom relief, we aim to understand the bigger picture, your history, patterns, and goals, so we can create a treatment plan that supports long-term progress.

Do you prescribe medications?

8

Yes, we provide medication management when appropriate. All decisions are made collaboratively to ensure you feel informed and comfortable with your treatment.

Do you provide therapy as well?

9

Our practice specializes in medication management, but we take a highly therapeutic approach to every session. We routinely integrate supportive therapy and skill-building into our visits to ensure you are getting comprehensive care. If your treatment plan requires dedicated, weekly talk therapy, we can help guide you to an excellent therapist in our referral network and work alongside them as a team.

Getting Started

What should I expect during my first visit?

10

Your first visit is a comprehensive evaluation where we take time to understand your symptoms, history, and goals. We will then work together to create a personalized treatment plan.

How often will I need follow-up appointments?

11

Follow-up frequency depends on your individual needs and treatment plan. Some patients may require more frequent visits initially, while others transition to less frequent check-ins as they progress. Our goal is to provide consistent support while respecting your time and flexibility.

How do I schedule an appointment?

12

Appointments can be scheduled directly through our website: check at Schedule Online. Once confirmed, you will receive instructions on how to access your secure telehealth session.
